Have'nt I already got this colour ?!

OPI Flashbulb Fuchsia VS China Glaze Caribbean Temptation

So I was doing a bit of spring cleaning in my nail polish collection and I found a colour that had been hiding on the top shelf for about a year, Caribbean Temptation by China Glaze.  So I decided that I would give it a go.

Caribbean Temptation by China Glaze

First thought was: OMG!! It's gorgeous !!
Second thought was:...hold on, I'm sure I've already got this colour ??

I quickly scanned my collection and found the polish in question, OPI's Flashbulb Fuchsia (One of my all time favorite colours.) They looked so similar side by side, so I decided to do a swatch comparison.

In the bottle they look like sisters, except C.G - C.T has alot more blue duochrome showing.

Index/Ring - Flashbulb Fuchsia,  Middle/Pinkie - Caribbean Tempation

Their almost twinnies, although you can see there is a slight difference, F.F is alot more magenta based whereas C.T is more pink based, but to be honest there is very little in it.  However application sets them worlds apart! F.F is opaque in just 1 coat :)  her little sister however was opaque after 2/3 coats.

All in all I love them both, Flashbulb Fuchsia still comes out on top, however I am glad I have Caribbean Temptation as it means I have a back up if/when I need it :)

Do you have either one of these babies in your collection ??

How I Style - Colourful skinnies

Hey Guys & Gals, so since the sun has started to make an appearance recently I thought I might invest in some colourful jeans.

I picked up these awesome cobalt jeggings from M&S the other week & I've quickly fallen in love with them! I decided that I would share how I style them with you....

These are a few ways that I would style these jeggings

These studded booties I got from Ebay, I think they're any rock chic's essential. The pink pumps are from New Look & they're my favorite summer flats.

Outfit 1

Now, this grey sweater I picked up from TK Maxx a couple of months ago .... can you guess why I fell in love with it instantly ?  It's so versatile, I can wear it with anything as it gives any outfit a certain edge :)  I decided to pull out my trusty trilby as I thought it worked well with the studs on my sweater!

Outfit 2

This pink & blue checkered shirt is also from M&S - it's so summery & bright, I've been eyeing it for a while but finally gave in to temptation & bought it !  My daisy bracelet is from Accessorize, I knew I had to have it as soon as I spotted it :)

Outfit 3

What can I say? :) This pleather gillet & leopard print shirt really give these jeggings a rock chic feel, and I have teamed it with my silver collar necklace & my studded cuff.

So how do you feel about coloured jeans ? Yay or Nay?

Nail polish/nail art haul

So I told myself that I wasn't going to buy any more nail polish as I didn't have space on my rack.....but every nail polish addict will agree, that's easier said than done !

Over the course of 3 months I've accumulated a handful of nail polish & a stash of  two way nail art pens.

(Essie - Blue Rhapsody/Playdate, Ciate - Mistress/Jewel, China Glaze - Meteor Shower/Riveting/ Passion, Orly - Green Apple & OPI - Just Spotted The Lizard)

I acquired 10 nail polishes in total, and as you can see, I got a mixture of colours. I think my favourite has to be Green Apple by Orly!

Here's my selection of two way nail art pens. As you can see, I was sent a variety of colours: light pinks to hot pinks, every shade of blue I could possibly need & some really nice metallics & glitters.

Now, as we're on the subject of nail art, I thought I might share my nail art designs.

I'm excited to try all of these designs this spring & summer.
Which design is your favourite ?

Cozy Winter Outfit

You would think that being in February it would start warming up but NO, it's actually getting colder !! It's been absolutely freezing so I had to wrap up warm for my weekly town/shopping excursion. Here's what I wore today..... minus my coat.

Animal print shirt - Wallis

I absolutely love this shirt, it's so unique & totally me !!! :) I paired it with my favourite winter jeans which I got when I went to New York last year. They're sooo soft !!

Indigo jeans from American Eagle

I recently purchased these brown leather western style boots by Rocket Dog off Ebay - it's their first outing & they are soo comfy!!

Now on to the main feature of this outfit !!

I think everyone should have a faux fur gilet in their winter wardrobe. Mine's by the brand 'Together' which I got from Ebay.

Lipstick - Mac 'Rebel'
This is my staple winter makeup look

Peace sign earrings from Fashionology

What's your Winter Wardrobe Essential ?

Pretty Fishy Nails

So for my first blog post I decided to stick with a simple nail polish post. Since spring is less than a month a way, I've been digging out my spring nail polish colours. Here's Butter London's Trout Pout, it's a salmon coral pink polish.

(Trout Pout & Seche Vete top coat in natural light)

I haven't worn this since last summer but as soon as I put it on I remembered how much I love it !Normally I'm very lazy when it comes to applying a top coat, however I felt I had to apply Seche Vete as Trout Pout was still a bit uneven after two coats. All sins were erased as Seche Vete smoothed everything out ! [:

(A better contrast)

All in all I think Trout Pout is a fantastic spring colour, it will definately be featuring in my spring nail polish picks !

What do you think ?
Are you looking forward to spring ?
